This Week in JU Athletics (Dec. 13-19)
JU men’s basketball player Ayron Hardy was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union “Athlete of the Week” to kick off another edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.

Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Ayron Hardy: Senior Ayron Hardy earned Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" honors after leading the JU men’s basketball team in wins against Stetson (Dec. 2) and FGCU (Dec. 4). Hardy scored 11 points against Stetson in the 70-61 win, picking up eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Against the Eagles, Hardy posted 11 points and a season-best 12 rebounds with four assists, three blocks and one steal.
Men’s basketball stays on the road - The men’s basketball team will continue to live out of a suitcase this week as they travel to play at Saint Louis on Wednesday at 8 p.m. The Dolphins will be looking to begin a new winning streak, while Saint Louis is looking to bounce back after a tough loss against defending National Champion Duke on Dec. 11.
Women’s basketball preps for busy week- The Dolphins will have a full slate of games to run through before leaving for the holidays. JU hosts FIU tonight at 7 p.m. in Swisher before playing Wake Forest in the same spot on Friday at 7 p.m. as well. They will play at UCF on Monday at 7 p.m. before breaking for the holidays.
Men’s hoops looks for new winning streak- The Dolphins began the week by seeing their six-game winning streak come to an end with a 73-66 loss to Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C. on Sunday. Delwan Graham came off the bench with another huge game for JU, scoring a team-high 17 points, with 11 coming in the second half.

Women’s hoops’ reaches national attention - With the 5-2 start, the Dolphins are now receiving votes in the Women’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll. They had six votes in the latest poll on Dec. 7. JU last received votes in theUSA Today/ESPN Coaches’ poll during the 2007-08 season.
