JU men’s basketball player Delwan Graham was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union “Athlete of the Week” to kick off the next edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.

Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Delwan Graham: Junior Delwan Graham earned Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" honors after hitting double-figures for the third time in the last four games during the Dolphins win against Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 30. He added 12 points off the bench, while recording two steals and an assist.
Men’s basketball hits the road for the A-Sun schedule - The Dolphins return to the A-Sun schedule tonight with a murderous trek the first week back. Tonight, JU plays at Campbell before traveling to face Lipscomb on Saturday and Belmont next Monday. The Dolphins knocked off Stetson (12/2) and FGC U (12/4) in their first set of A-Sun games to start the year.
Women’s basketball looks to shake funk- Like the men, the women will also play at Campbell before traveling to Nashville to play Lipscomb (1/8) and Belmont (1/10). The Dolphins are looking to shake a bad stretch after falling in four of the last five contests. JU defeated Stetson in its first A-Sun game before falling hard to FGCU to start the bad streak.
JU hosts Baseball Celebration on Jan. 14-16 - After hosting a successful celebration for the men’s basketball team last year, the athletics department will host similar event to honor the tradition of the baseball program on Jan. 14-16. Former players can enjoy a golf outing, the christening of the new C. Peter Cost Pavilion at John Session Stadium and a banquet to round out the three-day event. Spring teams start practice - We are in the thick of basketball season, but it never hurts to look ahead to the spring as most teams begin its practice in January. Fans can see its first new JU spring team in action on Jan. 29 when the indoor track & field team competes at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
