Men’s tennis falls to Florida A&M
The JU men’s tennis team couldn’t find a way to push past Florida A&M, dropping a 6-1 decision on Sunday afternoon at the Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex.

JU fell to 1-3 on the season one day after winning, 7-0, against Hampton University. Sophomore Jose Fantova earned the Dolphins lone individual victory after the Ferroe, Spain native posted a 6-4, 6-4 win in first singles play over Takura Happy.

Florida A&M won the remaining five singles contests and took two out of three in doubles competition. Fantova and freshman Larry Condez teamed for the Dolphins only victory in three doubles matches, recording a 9-7 win over the duo of Happy and Chidi Gabriel.

Fantova has now won his last three singles matches, improving to 3-1 on the season. He also moved to 4-0 in doubles play.

JU will next be in action on Saturday, Feb. 19 when it hosts South Carolina State. Matches are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
