Men’s tennis falls to ETSU
The JU men’s tennis team struggled to gain any advantage over East Tennessee State, dropping a 7-0 decision to the Bucs on Saturday afternoon at the Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

ETSU won all six singles competitions and recorded wins in the three doubles matches for the clean sweep. JU dropped to 2-5 overall while ETSU evened its record at 5-5.

ETSU did not drop a single set. JU sophomore Jose Fantova produced a strong showing at first singles before losing to Sandler Gille, 7-6, 6-3.

Fantova and freshman Larry Condez almost gave JU its only stand-alone victory but came up just short in a 8-7 loss to Juan Ramirez and Robin Akser in the second doubles pairing.

JU will return to action on Sunday when it hosts Appalachian State at 10 a.m.
