Women’s tennis ends homestand with loss to Miami RedHawks
The JU women’s tennis team struggled to find answers against Miami (Ohio), falling 7-0 to the RedHawks on Wednesday at the Keith Watson Family Tennis complex.

Miami recorded a clean sweep, winning all six singles matches and taking three doubles matches to improved to 9-5. JU, which concluded a nine-match homestand, dropped to 8-2 overall and 7-2 at home.

Natalia Melibeu posted the best showing by a JU player, taking Riekie Honiball to three sets before losing, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Flavia Nagayama won her first nine collegiate singles matches but dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Anastasia Dracheva from the second singles spot.

The RedHawks entered No. 68 in the Campbell's/ITA Tennis computer rankings.

JU will now head on the road for just its second match away from campus all season. The Dolphins won the first contest with a season-opening victory at Bethune-Cookman and will look to duplicate that feat when it starts Atlantic Sun-conference play by visiting Campbell for a 2 p.m. match on Friday.
