This Week in JU Athletics (Apr. 11-17)
JU baseball player Chris Anderson was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union “Athlete of the Week” to kick off the next edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.

Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Chris Anderson: Freshman right hander Chris Anderson was named the Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" after notching two saves and a win to help baseball sweep Mercer in Macon over the weekend. Anderson would work out of several jams by scattering three hits and fanning seven in 5.2 scoreless innings of relief.
Track & field goes for 6th outdoor title - The Dolphins will have a chance for their sixth straight outdoor title starting Friday at the A-Sun Championships in Jacksonville at UNF’s Hodges Stadium. The two-day meet will kick off with distance and throws events on Friday before completing the bulk of the competition on Saturday. JU has won each of the last two A-Sun outdoor meets hosted in Jacksonville.
Baseball & Softball hopes to get over hump vs. Campbell - The JU baseball and softball squads each host Campbell in an Atlantic Sun Conference doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. Baseball looks to build off its sweep of Mercer last weekend, while softball hopes for more wins to stay among the leaders in the A-Sun race. It will also be Senior Day for the softball team as well.
Women’s Golf & Women’s Tennis compete in A-Sun Championships - Track & field is not the only JU squad competing for an conference title this week. The women’s golf will start the first of three rounds today at the conference tournament in DeLand, Fla. Women’s tennis gets a chance at revenge against cross-town rival UNF in the first round on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in DeLand, Fla.

Other teams in action - Men’s lacrosse will host Marist on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in MAAC play at D.B. Milne Field. The women’s lacrosse is playing Presbyterian on Saturday in Clinton, S.C., while the rowing teams are at the SIRA Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
