Women’s rowing set for tough field at SIRA Regatta
After helping JU to its fifth straight overall team trophy at FIRA’s, the JU women’s rowing team will prepare to compete in the Southeast Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Regatta on Saturday and Sunday in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The Varsity 8 made up of coxswain Jamie Goldstein, Danielle Fournier, Allison Sobiech, Whitney Mathews, Jill Carmody, Abby Sierigk, Emily Close, Mary Mosier and Joanna Zachowski will race for lanes in the Event Final against Alabama, Southern Methodist, Tulsa, Kansas State and Purdue on Saturday at 2:43 p.m.

The Novice 8 with coxswain Jordan Heylock, Maycee Dioneda, Abigail Bristlin, Marina Pelemis, Jordyn Clary, Tiffany Malloy, Rebecca Clark, Mary Meyers and Kelsey Clark will compete in their initial heat against Alabama “B”, Tennessee and Kansas State on Saturday at 2:01 p.m. The top three finishers will move onto the Grand Final while the remaining boats compete in the Petite Final.
