Baseball inks Dylan Dillard during spring signing period
The JU baseball team has added another name to its spring recruit list by inking outfielder Dylan Dillard to a National Letter of Intent during the spring signing period.
Dillard joins Johnson County CC pitcher Wes Torrez (Napperville, Ill.) as the second spring signee for the Dolphins.
“Dylan will be a steady consistent bat in the lineup, as well as, a gritty outfielder that will run through a wall for the team,” said JU assistant coach Tommy Murphy. “His high quality makeup will be a huge asset to the JU baseball family.”
Dillard, a 6-foot, 185-pound senior at Osceola High School, is currently is currently batting .415 (27-65) with six doubles and a home run. As a junior, he was named Orange Belt all-conference and was voted team Offensive “Player of the Year.”
“Dylan is natural leader and an excellent student of the game,” said Osceola head coach Scott Birchler. “As an outfielder, he gets a good jump off the bat and runs good routs to the ball. He will be a tremendous asset to JU’s program and I wish him luck as he continues his career.”
