Gulbransen and Murphy named ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District
Batting second and third in the lineup all season, its seems fitting that junior Jonathan Murphy and sophomore Dan Gulbransen will see their names together on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team.

Gulbransen, who earned first team accolades and is eligible for All-America status starting on May 10, posted a 4.0 GPA as an exercise science major to earn the honor for the first time. He also garnered Atlantic Sun Conference all-academic honors and was named to the President’s List last season (4.0 GPA).

Gulbransen currently ranks second on the squad with a .373 batting average, 53 runs, 69 hits, 15 doubles, two triples, 103 total bases, a .567 slugging percentage and a .473 on-base percentage.

Murphy, who earned second team honors for the first time, registered a 3.8 GPA as a business management major. He has also earned academic all-conference accolades while being named to the Dean’s List as a sophomore and the President’s List as a freshman.

Murphy currently leads the squad with three triples and is second with 53 runs and 14 stolen bases while also ranking third with 68 hits, 93 total bases.
