Volleyball hosts three home contests this weekend

After going 1-2 at the Black & Gold Challenge, the JU volleyball team (3-7) will return to the friendly confines of Swisher Gymnasium for a three-game homestand beginning with Bethune-Cookman (1-3) on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Dolphins will then host No. 8 Washington on Friday at 7 p.m. before completing the weekend against New Orleans on Saturday at 5 p.m. The final two contests will be played as part of the JU/UNF Classic.
The Friday contest against No. 8 Washington will also be the first JU event to be aired live on ASun.TV through video streaming on www.judolphins.com.

Merchant, who led the squad in kills in a win over Radford, led the Dolphins with 31 kills, 2.82 kills per game, a .293 hitting percentage, 17 blocks and 1.55 blocks per game in the tournament. She also finished with double-digit kills and at least five blocks in two matches.
JU leads the conference with 2.4 blocks per game, is tied for second with 17.03 digs per game and is third with a .189 opponent hitting percentage.
Individually, senior middle blocker Melissa Merchant (1.39 blocks per game) and sophomore libero Michelle Walroth (6.03 digs per game) lead the conference while freshman setter Hannah Munneke is third with 11.31 assists per game.
