Green and gold AstroTurf is all the rage as the Dolphins head into an exciting week of action.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.

Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Josh McGregor: Junior Josh McGregor earned Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" honors after throwing for a career-high 405 yards and a school-record tying six touchdowns in leading the Dolphins to a 42-15 win over Davidson in the PFL opener for JU.
Football christens new turf on Saturday - Boise State has the blue turf and Eastern Washington has red turf, but the Dolphins will get to christen their green & gold turf on Saturday when the host San Diego at noon on the newly renovated D.B. Mile Field. The Dolphins look to stay perfect in PFL play after knocking off Davidson last week.
Men’s soccer opens A-Sun play on Sunday at UNF -There is officially three points in one to look at here for the men’s soccer team. The Dolphins begin the conference schedule at UNF on Sunday at 7 p.m. The match will also kick off the annual SunTrust River City Rumble between the two schools. Lastly, the two teams will battle for the Dennis Viollet Memorial Cup which the Ospreys pried away from the Dolphins in 2009.
Cross Country looks for another good result on Friday - The JU men’s and women’s cross country teams will race again on Friday at the Invitational. The women’s team looks to build off their second place finish at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational and win this meet for the second year in a row. The men’s team is in their first action sice the JU Short Course Duals on Sept. 3.

Softball opens fall schedule on Friday - Fans can get an early shot at seeing the 2011 JU softball team in action as the Dolphins open their fall schedule on Friday at home against Seminole State College. First pitch for the doubleheader starts at 5 p.m. The Dolphins look to build off their 33-win campaign in 2010 and make strides to winning their first A-Sun title.
