Home sweet home: JU resumes conference play at Swisher on Monday
After a two month journey across the country, the Jacksonville University men’s basketball team returns home to resume Atlantic Sun Conference play against Lipscomb.

Just the third home game of the season, the Dolphins will also be playing on campus – with the contest being played in Swisher Gymnasium to avoid conflicts with the Gator Bowl. Jacksonville has split its two home games this season and hasn’t played a home game since Dec. 15.

Monday’s game is the second half of a doubleheader with the JU women’s team, with tipoff set for 7:15 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on 1010XL starting at 7 p.m., or watch the game live on ASun.TV.

Jacksonville (2-10, 0-1 A-Sun) looks to build off a promising first half at Alabama in hopes of ending its eight-game losing streak.

“We’re making progress each game and I’m pleased with our effort,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “The guys are improving and working hard each day.”

The Dolphins trailed by five at the half against Alabama on Thursday, 42-37, but missed their first 10 shots of the second half, allowing the Crimson Tide to score the first 10 points and put the game out of reach.

Delwan Graham came alive against the Tide, scoring 13 points and pulling down a season-best 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

Lipscomb (6-8, 1-1 A-Sun) had some key wins against Austin Peay, Tennessee-Martin, SIU-Edwardsville, Sacred Heart and Kennesaw State prior in 2011, but haven’t played a game since losing to Iowa State on Dec. 21.
