JU women face UCF, Stetson
The JU women’s rowing team returns to action Saturday as it heads to Orlando to face both UCF and Stetson.

The Dolphins head to Orlando’s Lake Pickett, Lake Pickett, a spring-fed fresh water lake which has been home to the UCF rowing program since 1973.

Racing begins at 9 a.m. with two events being raced. UCF's 1V and 2V boats will be taking on Jacksonville in the varsity-eight race.

Savannah Rice will be coxswain for the 8s and will have Emily Close at stroke with Cat Plesko, Whitney Mathews, Abby Sierigk, Joanna Zachowski, Jordyn Clary, Maycee Dioneda and Mary Mosier aboard.

The varsity four contest will follow, with the Dolphins competing against Stetson and two UCF rigs. Coxswain Jordan Heylock will lead her crew, April Beck, Kelly Cleveland, Samara Generals and Rebecca Clark in the fours.

The season is rapidly winding down and after Saturday’s action the Dolphins have but three regattas remaining. After a two-week break, the team heads to SIRA’s in Oak Ridge, Tenn., followed by the MAAC Championship and Dad Vail.
