Men’s cross country completes JU short course duals
Senior Jesse Brantman and sophomore Matthew Outlaw paced the JU men’s cross country team on Friday in the JU short course duals on campus.
Brantman finished 15th with a time of 19:23.79, while Outlaw ran a time of 19:30.63 for 16th place.
Savannah State won the meet with a 3-0 mark followed by Stetson, Bethune-Cookman and JU.
“I am happy with the men’s effort,” JU head coach Ron Grigg said. “We have a group of hard workers that will all get better as the year progresses. It was a nice start.”
Freshman Jason Aquaviva ran a time of 19:37.56 (18th), while freshman Martin Crouse (20:04.26, 20th) and sophomore Esteban Mendez (20:6.34, 21st) finished within a few seconds of each other.
Freshman Taylor Fisher registered a time of 22:02.55 to round out the JU runners.
The men’s team will compete again at the FLRunners.com Invitational in Titusville, Fla. on Sept. 30.
