CW17 to televise JU football
Jacksonville University and WCWJ CW17 television are proud to announce that all four of the home Pioneer Football League games this season will be televised.

“This is a great partnership as we, along with CW17, are committed to showcase our football team on local television,’’ JU Director of Athletics Alan Verlander said. “We have been working on this for several months with Marc and are happy area fans will be able to see our games.’’

The first telecast will be this Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Dolphins play host to Dayton in a critical PFL game.

“Our kids think it’s great they are going to be on TV and they deserve the exposure,’’ head coach Kerwin Bell said. “This is another key step as we continue to build a championship program here. Our program appreciates how Marc Hefner and CW17 are committed to the local teams.’’

WCWJ CW17 Vice President and General Manager Marc Hefner said the station is continuing to fulfill its mission of providing quality local programming.

“The Athletic Department staff at JU has been diligent in their efforts to manage the details required to make this series of local college football games ready for broadcast television.” Hefner said. “We look forward to watching Coach Bell continue the success he has built with the JU Dolphin Football Team.”

Long time play by play announcer Cole Pepper will call the games and will be joined by former Jacksonville Jaguar Maurice “Mo” Williams in the booth.
