Men’s basketball returns home for FREE HOOPS Saturday
Thanks to Sea Best Seafood, Jacksonville University will open the doors to the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday when they host East Tennessee State at 3:15 p.m.

Admission to the fifth annual event is FREE, which has drawn record crowds for JU basketball back to the Arena.

The Dolphins (2-14, 0-5 A-Sun) are hoping to capture some magic from the crowd as they look to revive their season.

In its last seven games, Jacksonville has been within striking distance late, but has been unable to close the deal.

One of the most glaring stats that jump off the sheet is that the Dolphins have not made more free throws than their opponent in a game this season.

“We’ve had a good week of practice to get ready for this game and thanks to our friends at Sea Best Seafood, we invite everyone to come out and show your support,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “The guys are continuing to work hard each day and get better.”

Saturday’s game will be the 15th in the series history, with ETSU holding a 10-4 lead, having won five in a row dating back to Jan. 30, 2009…The Dolphins are off to an 0-5 start in Atlantic Sun Conference play, their worst start since joining the league in 1998…JU’s current losing streak is the longest since dropping the last 24 of the 2005-06 season.
