Freshman named A-Sun player of the week
After just her first weekend of spring competition in a JU uniform, freshman Aline Staudt was named Atlantic Sun women’s tennis player of the week. She went undefeated in two matches against FAU and Savannah State as both a singles and a doubles competitor.

Playing against opposing team’s best talent, Staudt has excelled in her brief JU career. She started off the 2012 season beating FAU’s Justine Humair 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 on Saturday before returning Sunday to defeat Savannah State’s Sandra Kristjansdotti 6-0, 6-2. Staudt also teamed up with JU sophomore Natalie Melibeu to win her doubles match 8-3 against both opponents.

Staudt is off to a fantastic start to her JU career with an undefeated 2012 record and being honored as the A-Sun player of the week after just her first weekend of competition. It appears this honor is one of many that she will earn throughout her Dolphin career.
