Jacksonville tops Princeton at Hidden Hills
Led by Jessica Welch’s round of 77, the Jacksonville women’s golf team topped Princeton, 313 to 335, in a head-to-head match at Hidden Hills Country Club on Thursday.

Among the nine golfers, Welch’s five-over par score was the best of the day – topping Wonji Choi from Princeton and teammates Francesca Yong and Gaia Olcese by one.

“This was a good round for us to get back into competition,” said JU head coach Ashley Prange. “I’m glad we got this round to get the juices flowing again before we hit the road for our tournament this weekend.”

Jacksonville also got a seven-over par 79 from Natalie Schmett to shoot 25-over par, 313. Morgan Jackson shot a 12-over par, 84.

Princeton had an 80 from Kelly Shon, an 88 form Christine Cong and an 89 from Mary Funk.

The Dolphins return to tournament action on Sunday at the Low Country Intercollegiate.
