Sea Best Invitational tees off Monday
The college golf spring season kicks off in style on Monday morning as Florida looks to defend its title at the third annual Sea Best Seafood Invitational.

The Gators took home the team title last season, winning by 25 shots over North Florida on the legendary PLAYERS Stadium Course at the TPC at Sawgrass.

For the Jacksonville University squad, the event serves as the only home tournament of the season and a chance to kick off its spring semester against some of the top teams in the country – including Coastal Carolina, East Carolina and Liberty.

“Our team is excited to get on the first tee tomorrow,” said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. “We’ve had some good preparation for the tournament, now we need to execute what we’ve been working on in tournament conditions.”

The first two rounds will be played Monday, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., with the second round immediately following. The final round begins Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free, with spectator carts available in the clubhouse.
