Hannon is NLC Defensive Player of Week
Defender Rachel Hannon, who set a school record last week, has been named National Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Hannon, a junior from Annapolis, Md., set the school record when she had 12 draw controls against Liberty. She then followed that up with an 11-draw control game against Longwood. She is, by far, the school’s career draw control leader with 147.

In addition to her draw control prowess last week, Hannon also had four ground balls giving her 84 for her career and one caused turnover and she led a defense that allowed only eight goals in two games.

One of the team’s captains, Hannon also tied her personal best for goals in a season. She had two goals last week, on an economical two shots, giving her three for the year which ties her effort of three in 2010.
