JACKSONVILLE, FL.-- For the second consecutive week, a Dolphin pitcher has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week. Brittany Eppley receives the honor after pitching a one-hit shutout against Stetson in a game that clinched a spot for JU in the conference tournament.
The recognition is well deserved as Eppley has been a force in the circle for the Dolphins during conference play. The one hit, one walk, nine strikeout performance gave Eppley her seventh A-Sun win and clinched a spot for JU in the conference tournament. This marks the first time in her career that Eppley has garnered Pitcher of the Week honors.
With the regular season completed, Jacksonville will now turn its attention to the conference tournament where they enter as the number five seed. They will take on Lipscomb in a rematch of last year’s title game. The two teams split a pair of games earlier this season when they faced off at the JU Softball Complex. The game is set for Wednesday at 3:00 pm in Spartanburg, S.C.
