JU men’s soccer player Stefan Durr was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union “Athlete of the Week” to kick off the latest edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.


Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" - Stefan Durr: Senior men’s soccer player Stefan Durr was named the Community First Credit Union "Athlete of the Week" after winning the fan vote on the JU athletics facebook page. Durr scored a goal against Lipscomb and Belmont during the Dolphins’ trip to Nashville last weekend.
Football takes on Davidson - The Dolphins end their three-game home stand on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Davidson for homecoming. JU stayed perfect in PFL play with its 50-14 win against Morehead State on Oct. 15. If you can’t make it to the game, don’t worry because you can watch it live locally on CW 17 or listen through the radio on 1010xl.
Dolphins ready to rumble with UNF-JU and cross-town rival UNF will renew its annual year-long battle for the Old Wooden Barrel with the first installments of the SunTrust River City Rumble this week. Women’s soccer hosts the Ospreys on Friday for senior night, while the volleyball team travels across the city for the first of two matches against UNF. The men’s soccer team will round out homecoming with the Ospreys on Saturday at the Ashley Sports Complex.
Rowing hosts its annual alumni race on Saturday- The JU men’s & women’s rowing teams will host its annual alumni race on Saturday morning at the Negaard Rowing Center. It’s always one of the best events during homecoming so don’t miss your chance to come out.

Other teams in action- The women’s golf team is in Charleston, S.C. to compete in the Wendy’s Invitational today and tomorrow. The tennis programs head to Athens, Ga. for the ITA Southeastern Regional starting on Thursday. Outside of the trip to UNF, the volleyball team hosts Bethune-Cookman on Saturday at home before playing Florida A&M on Sunday.
