Baptist Health is the Official Healthcare Provider of JU Athletics
Jacksonville University Athletics and Baptist Health have signed a three-year agreement in which Baptist Health is the official healthcare provider for JU Athletics. Dolphin student athletes will have access to the full range of services of Baptist Health’s comprehensive circle of care.

"Creating a partnership of this magnitude is sure to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our student athletes," said JU Athletic Director Alan Verlander. “Baptist Health will provide a full range of comprehensive healthcare, including Baptist Primary Care, Solantic Baptist Urgent Care, advance imaging services and the hospital care of Baptist Medical Center. We are pleased to offer our student-athletes access to Baptist Health’s services and physicians.”

JU is continuing its longstanding exclusive relationship with Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute (JOI), an affiliate of Baptist Health, to provide student athletes with expert care for injuries. From surgical expertise to innovative physical therapy and rehabilitation, Baptist and JOI are leaders in providing advanced treatments for patients with orthopaedic and sports-related injuries.

Backed by research and the development of new rehabilitation and injury repair techniques, Baptist and JOI sports medicine physicians are experienced in diagnosing and treating the complete spectrum of injuries.

“We have enjoyed a strong relationship with JU over the years and this new agreement continues and expands upon the services provided to Dolphin student athletes,” said John Wilbanks, chief operating officer, Baptist Health. “Under Alan’s capable leadership, the athletic program has flourished remarkably, and Baptist Health and JOI are proud to be entrusted with the health care of these fine young men and women.”
