This Week in JU Athletics (Jan. 9-15)
JU women’s basketball player Jade Cargill was tabbed as the Community First Credit Union Athlete of the Week to kick off the latest edition of This Week in JU Athletics.

This Week in JU Athletics is a weekly feature to give fans the top five items of the week and a full list of all the athletic events so they can cheer the Dolphins on to victory.


Community First Credit Union Athlete of the Week – Jade Cargill: Sophomore women’s basketball player Jade Cargill was named the Community First Credit Union Athlete of the Week after winning the fan vote on the JU athletics facebook page. After posting 12 points vs. Lipscomb, Cargill tallied double-doubles against Belmont (22 points, 13 rebounds) and Stetson (14 points, 10 rebounds).
Men’s hoops looks to get back on track - The Dolphins will look to get back on track starting tonight against Florida Gulf Coast. They will be at home on Saturday to host East Tennessee State for the annual SeaBest Seafood free game at the Veterans Memorial Arena. Tipoff is set for 3:15 p.m. and there is absolutely NO CHARGE for those wishing to come watch the Dolphins that.
Women’s hoops hopes to continue hot streak at home - After tonight’s bout against Florida Gulf Coast, the Dolphins hope to continue their four-game home winning streak on Thursday against USC Upstate at 7 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium. JU hosts ETSU on Saturday in the arena at 1 p.m.
Track & Field starts indoor season Saturday- The Dolphins will be in action for the first time on Saturday as they open the indoor season at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. This is the first of consecutive meets for the Dolphins as they work towards a seventh consecutive A-Sun Indoor Championship.

Get to Class!- The Dolphins will officially begin the spring semester on Wednesday. JU student-athletes post a combined 3.0 GPA and take home several conference academic honors each semester.
