JU sand volleyball duo of senior Kathryn Kane and Sammie Strausbaugh had a strong performance at the Fiesta at Siesta Key tournament over the weekend to earn A-Sun Pair of the Week honors.

The duo were one of JU three pairs to reach in the gold round of the tournament on April 14 to help the Dolphins snag a second place for the second straight season. Kane and Strausbaugh posted a 5-1 mark, including a win over a pair from Florida State, in earning fifth place.

"Sammie and Kathryn played great this weekend," JU head coach Michelle Collier said. "They are totally deserving of this award and this is a great reflection on how our team has been working hard and how everyone is making each other better".

This the second pair of the week honor for the Dolphins this inaugural spring season after sophomore Kendall Courtney and freshman Cari Whitmire earned the accolade April 4.

The Dolphins compete in the inaugural A-Sun Sand Volleyball Championships Friday on campus against Stetson, North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast and Mercer.
