JU volleyball head coach Michelle Collier reached to the West Coast for her first signing in her Dolphins tenure by adding Emily Laskelle (Napa, Calif.) for the 2012 season.

Laskelle, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Napa High School, recorded team MVP and all-county accolades as a senior in helping the Indians win their third Monticello Empire League title in the last five years.

For the year, she recorded 95 kills, a .289 hitting percentage, 20 blocks, 14 assists and seven service aces. Laskelle also snagged two different all-tournament honors in the season and earned team MVP as a sophomore.

"We are super excited to add Emily to our program,” Collier said. “She is a tremendous athlete and she is going to make an immediate impact on our team. I look forward to working with her for the next four years."

On the traveling volleyball circuit, Laskelle is the team captain for the Empire Volleyball Club who was ranked 23rd in the junior national rankings in 2010. She also helped them earn a berth to the Junior Nationals in Atlanta during the season.

The Dolphins wrapped their inaugural sand season on April 22 and start the 2012 indoor season in August.
