DOLPHINS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Day One
The first day of the trip is in the books for us. It started this morning with the buses arriving at 4:30 a.m. on campus. Yes, it was very early, but everyone arrived on time and was dressed very well.
The team made up for the early start by sleeping the whole trip down to the Orlando airport for our first flight. The airport was packed at 7 a.m. so it was a good thing we got there early! The team looked very excited because they were asking a lot of questions.
They also made a few more phone calls, texts and tweets because little did they know I was collecting their phones for the week. You can only imagine the looks I got when I told them we would be collecting ALL phones when we got there – it was pretty funny.
It was a pretty smooth transition through customs for our large party in getting to the Dominican Republic. So far, we have learned our strength coach, Todd Moyer, is great at helping people and juco newcomer Dylan Fritsch is good with the kids.
After having a GREAT dinner in the Embassy Suites Hotel, we had team meeting. The guys are excited to see, play and share this unique experience. Tommy Kyle (Nations of Coaches) and David Conrady (Score International) were also dynamite as well tonight.
