Walden wins national, PFL Player of the Week again
This is starting to get routine for JU kick returner Colby Walden.

For the second consecutive week Saturday, Walden returned a kickoff for a touchdown to turn around a contest as his Pioneer Football League record-tying 99-yard kickoff return led Jacksonville to a 26-14 PFL victory against Marist.

For the second consecutive week Sunday, Walden, from Tampa, Fla., was named National Performer of the Week by College football Performance Awards and PFL Special Teams Player of the Week.

In a repeat the Dolphins Week 4 win against Dayton, Walden’s return came on the kickoff following a Marist go-ahead touchdown. He finished the game with three kickoff returns for 135 yards (45 yards per return).

The return against Marist broke the previous school record of 94 yards set by Tyrone Wright in a game against Drake on Nov. 10, 2001. It also was the fourth kickoff return touchdown in Walden’s career, another school record and he now has four of the top five longest kickoff returns in school history.
