Women’s golf finishes eighth in FIU Pat Bradley Invitational

The JU women’s golf team closed out the 35th FIU Pat Bradley Invitational in eighth place Tuesday at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.

Sophomore Jessica Welch and Natalie Schmett each carded a 4-over par 76 in their final round to finish 22nd to lead JU. Junior Carlie Gehlhausen pared all but one hole on the back nine to finish with a 77 for 28th.

Senior Gaia Olcese finished 58th, while freshman Christina Paulsen was 64th to round of the JU group.

Host FIU shaved eight strokes off of is second round score to win the tourney. Cincinnati, Bradley, Boston College and Daytona State College rounded out the top five.

The Dolphins wrap the fall season starting Friday at the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
