The women’s team recorded a first and a pair of thirds in the event at Canal 54 in Fellsmere, Fla.
“We had some decent results from all the women’s boats, especially the freshman/novice,’’ Mitchell said. “The varsity boats also showed some speed improvement throughout the fall.’’
The Dolphins A boat took the top spot in the Freshman/Novice 4 while the B boat just missed a top-five.
The A boat was headed by Renee Pharis and she had Jenna Holt, Laura Stevenson, Chassidy White and Sydney Warpness on board. The B boat had Monica Hakun at coxswain with Blanca Fernandez, Kasey Talbot, Laine Peterson and Lauren Cruz.
Pharis led the JU Novice 8 boat to a third place and had as crew Victoria Hernandez, Ashley Hirt, Julianna Welch, Stevenson, Holt, White, Fernandez and Warpness.
The Varsity 4 craft with Jordan Heylock, Emily Close, Jordyn Clary, Joanna Zachowski and Mary Mosier on board picked up a third in its race while the second JU entry, with Savannah Rice at coxswain was seventh. Rice had Cassie MacLellan, Cat Plesko, Abby Sierigk and Whitney Mathews on board.

The second Dolphin entry, with Heylock, MacLellan, Hirt, Sierigk, Kelly Cleveland, Rebecca Clark, Ivy Hartley and Samara Generals on board, was ninth.
