The JU coaching staff took part in the most prestigious annual lacrosse clinic, providing instruction to nearly 200 NCAA coaches at the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association meetings in Naples last week.

Head coach Mindy McCord, first assistant Paul McCord and defensive coordinator Sarah Gallion taught a variety of innovative drills focusing on transition and fast-break skill instruction.

“It's an honor to be asked to speak in front of our peers and showcase our staff,” said Mindy McCord. “We enjoy sharing and growing the game and making it fun for players and coaches. Paul and Sarah are each head coaches in their own rights, so presenting gives them a chance to show their peers all the amazing work they do at JU.”

The staff's drills and system instruction have been hot topics after leading the NCAA in scoring for two consecutive seasons, establishing the offensive bench mark for scoring in the 2012 season.

“It was great to present some of our drill work to our peers at the IWLCA clinic,” added Gallion. “We take pride in growing the game at all levels. This was special.”
