The Dolphins put their NCAA record breaking offense to the test as they host the top ranked Orange in the earliest regular season game in NCAA history
A new season in a new league. It is a new era for Jacksonville women's lacrosse and the Dolphins are ready to prove they belong against the best in the nation. After leading the country with an NCAA record 18.16 goals per game a year ago, JU has revved up it's schedule for 2013 starting off with 2012 national runner-up and Inside Lacrosse Magazine's preseason No. 1, Syracuse.
Earlier this week Jacksonville was featured in the Atlantic Sun Insider blog:
“We are thrilled about being a part of the Atlantic Sun Conference as the A-Sun’s newest sport, and it is very exciting to have an automatic bid,” said JU Head Coach Mindy McCord. “While certainly we are going to show up at the field on game day and do what we need to do to compete for the championship and the automatic bid, we also have to do everything we can to help the newer teams succeed as well.”

The Orange reached the national championship game last season for the first time in school history where it fell to Northwestern, 8-6. Coming off a 19-4 record in 2012, Syracuse returns 10 starters for head coach Gary Gait including preseason player of the year candidate Michelle Tumolo for 2013.
This is the first ever meeting between the two schools.
Jacksonville will host Team England in an exhibition contest at the Ashley Sports Complex on January 23 at 5:30pm.
