Women's Lacrosse Hosts Vanderbilt on Sunday

Jacksonville returns to regular season action against Vanderbilt at 12:00 pm on Sunday afternoon at Milne Field.

The Dolphins are taking the field for the first time since a 12-11 overtime win over England on Jan. 23.  JU officially opened the 2013 NCAA lacrosse season back on Jan. 13 with the earliest played game in NCAA history.  The Dolphins fell to No. 1 Syracuse 21-8 in the historic contest as eight different players scored goals for JU in the game.

“We are improving each game," said Head Coach Miny McCord. "We hope to play well against an SEC team at home and continue to compete with our best. It’s great to be on A-Sun TV and continue competing against nationally strong opponents. We had a good week of practice and we feel positive.”

On top of the team's successes on teh field, the Dolphins achieved their highest semester GPA in team history with a 3.51 in the fall.

Vanderbilt is making its 2013 season debut Sunday afternoon.

The Commodores bring a young squad into the 2013 season after nine seniors graduated from last year’s team that went 8-8 overall and 1-4 in the ALC. Vanderbilt returns only 25 percent of their goals scored from a season ago.
