It’s finally time for the JU baseball team to see some live action as it begins a three-game set Friday at John Sessions Stadium.

Friday’s first pitch is at 6:30 p.m. Game two is set for Saturday at 2 p.m., while the series final is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m. Following the three-game series, the Dolphins, picked ninth in the Atlantic Sun polls, play at Florida State on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

“We are ready to get started,” JU head coach Terry Alexander said. “Our guys are ready to play someone with a different colored jersey. We play two tough teams to start the season, but this will help down the road for conference play.” "We have a different style of team this year than we did last year, this year we are looking to play great defense and put pressure on our opponents and play good fundamental baseball."

On the hill, the Dolphins can look forward to the veteran leadership of junior Chris Anderson and sophomore Alex McCrae. Anderson (Lino Lakes, Minn.) finished 2012 with a 5-4 record and 4.48 era. McRae (West Allis, Wisc.) led the Dolphins in 2012 with an era of 3.43 while winning four games in his freshman year.
