Dolphins Look To Continue Tournament Success On Thursday

Brief Preview
    The Jacksonville women’s basketball team heads off to Macon for the 2013 Atlantic Sun Tournament on Thursday.  The Dolphins (11-18; 7-11) earned the sixth seed in the tournament and will face the three seed, Mercer in the quarterfinals at 12:00 pm.

    JU heads to Macon having won four of the final five games.

    Queen Alford has led the way for the Dolphins during their end of the year run averaging a team best 18.8 points and 8.6 rebounds during the five game span. Her end of the year run help her become the first player in program history to earn A-Sun Freshman of the Year Honors. Alford also earned a spot on the A-Sun Second Team and Freshmen Team.

    During the final five games sophomore Britney Holliday (13.2) and senior Tracie Sneed (10.8) are also averaging in double figures as the Dolphins are putting up 71.6 ppg as a team. JU is also averaging over 40 rebounds per game during the stretch.
