Dolphins to be strongly represented at the NCAA East Preliminary Round May 23-25
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A record six student-athletes will be representing Jacksonville at the East Preliminary next week in North Carolina. The six individuals to qualify for the Dolphins were among the top 48 student-athletes in their respective events in the East region.
North Carolina A&T State University hosts the 2013 NCAA Division I Track and Field East Preliminary Round on Thursday, May 23-Saturday, May 25. The three days of competition take place at Irwin Belk Track inside of Aggie Stadium. The top 12 individuals from both the East and West Preliminary Rounds in each of 20 events will advance to the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8, 2013.

“This is our largest and most diverse group of athletes to qualify for the NCAA Preliminary rounds, signifying what is likely our best season to date,” said Jacksonville Director of Track & Field Ron Grigg, who has led the program to 16 straight Atlantic Sun Indoor and Outdoor titles combined
“We look forward to some great competition in an effort to advance to the NCAA finals in Oregon.”
