Junior racked up 44 total points on 21 goals and 23 assists this season
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Ali Hoffman, a junior on the Jacksonville women’s lacrosse team, was voted to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team for District 4, as selected by the district’s members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
With her selection to the district’s first team, Hoffman will be on the national ballot for Academic All-America® along with each first-team all-district selection from eight geographical districts.
Hoffman, a marketing major, has compiled a 3.99 grade-point average as a student-athlete at Jacksonville. Named the Atlantic Sun Women’s Lacrosse Student-Athlete of the Year for 2013, she helped lead the Dolphins to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearances this year after the team claimed the A-Sun regular season and tournament championships. She was one of only two players in the league this season to record over 20 goals and 20 assists. Her 23 assists ranked second in the A-Sun behind teammate Taylor McCord. Hoffman finished the year with 44 total points and 38 ground balls while starting all 19 games for the Dolphins.
The women’s at-large team includes NCAA Division I student-athletes that compete in bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis and water polo.
