DOLPHINS in ninth at Koch Invitational

TAMPA. Fla. – The JU men’s golf team is in ninth place after day one of the Gary Koch Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Dolphins opened with (292-295 - 587) over the par 72 course.

The Dolphins were led by Nick Torrance who opened with (73-69 – 142) to finish in a tie for 13th in the individual competition. Cyril Suk opened with (75-71 -146) to tie for 29th overall. Jamey Salmon covered the par -72 layout in (70-78 -148) finishing in a tie for 41st.

Colin Monagle (76-77 -153) finished at 9-over par in a tie for 63rd and Brett McKinnon finished at 11-over par (74-81 -155) to tie for 68th overall.

The tournament is a 54-hole event with over the Old Memorial Golf Club in Tampa, Fla.

The Dolphins are part of a 14-team field including No.6 ranked FSU, No. 8 Georgia Tech, No. 9 Florida, No. 19 North Florida, No. 20 Auburn, No. 26 Wake Forest, No. 50 Georgia Southern, College of Charleston, Kentucky, Ohio State, Pacific, South Florida and UNCG.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
