Dolphins looking for third straight win
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville men’s lacrosse team returns to action against Robert Morris at D.B. Milne Field this Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
The Dolphins (2-2) have won two straight following Saturday’s 13-7 win over Marquette. Senior Cam Mann (Hamilton, Ont.) and freshman Dakota Rohlin (Temecula, Calif.) each had two goals and an assist to lead the Dolphins. Senior James Trentini (Fort Washington, Pa.) also added a pair of goals as ten different players scored for JU.
Rohlin was honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for his effort, earning MAAC rookie of the week accolades. Mann meanwhile has now recorded a point in in 44 straight games, giving him the fifth longest active streak in the nation.
The Dolphins have put together a streak themselves. JU has won six straight games on D.B. Milne Field dating back to last season.
Robert Morris (2-2) comes to Jacksonville off a 13-12 loss to Drexel on March 2.
“I think RMU will be one of the best teams we play this year. They are so talented in the offensive end of the field and have been lighting up the scoreboard against some high quality opponents,” said JU Head Coach Guy Van Arsdale.
“They are a team that you can’t give them a lot of opportunities or you are going to get yourself in a hole. I think we have to be very smart and not have silly turnovers in the middle of the field because they will make you pay for those immediately.”
Following Tuesday’s contest, JU is back in action at home on Saturday at 12:00 pm against Siena.
