Men’s Basketball Adds Seven for 2013-14 Season
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.Head Coach Cliff Warren, the all-time leader in wins at Jacksonville University, has announced his latest recruiting haul. The additions of four freshmen –Jairus Holder, Sam Hunt, Joshua Murray and Marcel White – will complement the additions of graduate transfers Vince Martin and RJ Slawson as the Dolphins look to regain the top spot in the Atlantic Sun in the upcoming 2013-14 campaign. A fifth freshman, Omar El Manasterly, joins the Dolphins as a walk-on this season.

“With this year’s incoming class, I think we’ve added a lot of quality depth in all areas,” said Warren. “That begins at the point guard spot with senior Vince Martin who comes to us with several years of college basketball experience, as well as Sam Hunt, a freshman who played with a great AAU team.”

“We’ve also added a lot of versatility with players like Jairus Holder and Marcel White; they’ll add size, length and athleticism to both our guard and forward positions. Then in the post, we’re bringing in RJ Slawson, a transfer from South Carolina, and freshman Josh Murray. Looking at this class as a whole, we’ve gone a long way towards giving ourselves the depth, versatility and size that are needed to compete for a conference title.”

The Dolphins return three starters and four of the top six scorers from the 2012-13 squad, and will get the regular season underway on Nov. 8 in an I-10 battle against the Florida State Seminoles.
