MACON, Ga. – The early votes are in and Jacksonville University men’s basketball player Keith McDougald has earned a spot as one of the top vote-getters on this season’s Preseason All-Atlantic Sun team. Now, fans across the league get to make their voice heard as voting commences for the Fan-Voted Preseason Atlantic Sun Player of the Year.
McDougald, a senior, joins Brett Comer (Florida Gulf Coast), Torrey Craig (USC Upstate), Chase Fieler (Florida Gulf Coast) and Langston Hall (Mercer) as one of the five candidates for the award. To vote, go to the Atlantic Sun Facebook page and like the photo of your selection. The player with the most likes will be included in the Preseason All-Conference release, scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Last season, McDougald was JU's leading scorer, averaging 13.1 points per game in 28 contests. His numbers spiked in conference play, where he scored at a 15.4 points per game clip, improved his field goal percentage by more than five percent, and shot .463 from long-range.
