Dolphins Primed For 'Green Out' vs Butler 12:00 pm Saturday

The biggest home game of the season is on tap this Saturday for Jacksonville. Winners of two straight the Dolphins welcome Butler to D.B. Milne Field for a 12:00 pm showdown.

Fans are encouraged to wear green to the game as the Dolphins host a “Green Out”

Students and faculty receive free admission and can pick tickets up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, outside the Kinne Center. For more ticket information, contact the JU Athletics office at (904) 256-7400.

‘Fin Facts

  • Jacksonville (2-2; 1-0) brings the nation’s fourth highest scoring offense into a pivotal Pioneer Football League match-up against Butler (2-2; 0-0) this Saturday
  • Coming off back-to-back 69 point outings, JU enters this week tied for fourth in the nation with 46.5 points per game
  • The 138 combined points by JU the past two weeks are the most in the country
  • JU is the first team since Southern Illinois in 2003 to score 69 or more points in back to back weeks
  • Strong starts have been a calling card for JU this season as the Dolphins have out scored opponents 69-3 in the first quarter this year

Hughes Steps Up
  • With Kade Bell out to injury, the JU offense didn’t miss a beat with Steven Hughes (Melbourne, Fla.) at quarterback last week
  • Hughes completed 15-20 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns earning him PFL Offensive Player of the Week honors
  • For the season he has a passing efficiency of 200.21 having completed 77 percent of his passes for 383 yards and three TDs

Running Backs Sharing the Wealth
  • JU has had a different leading rusher in three of the four games this season
  • The past weeks JU’s leading rusher has gone for over 100 yards with Ulysses Bryant (Jacksonville, Fla.) totaling 139 vs Warner and Orlando Thomas (Ocoee, Fla.) totaling 176 vs Morehead
  • Over the last two weeks JU is averaging 348 yards of rushing Dolphins have three backs (Orlando Thomas; 11.5, Ulysses Bryant; 7.7, and Johnnie Hicks; 7.4) who are averaging over seven yards per rush

Foley Filling In
  • Defensive back Ed Foley (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) leads JU with 32 tackles this season and has already surpassed his previous best season total of 29 in 2011 from his first three years at JU
  • Last week vs Warner he added his first career interception and made a 46-yard return

Special Teams Notes

Lynch Rewriting the JU Record Book
  • Sr. PK/P Dylan Lynch (Jacksonville, Fla.) has become a regular name in the JU record book since joining the Dolphins from FIU prior to the 2012 season
  • Another record setting week vs Warner netted him national Special Teams Player of the Week honors from the Sports Network
  • Lynch earned the honor after making 9-9 extra points and 2-2 field goals fro a total of 15 points
  • His performance matched his school record for single game kick scoring he established the previous week vs Morehead points connecting on 9-9 extra points and 2-3 field goals
  • The preseason All-PFL selection became JU’s career field goals made leader vs Jacksonville State and now has 20 made FGs
  • Lynch also set a school record with a 73-yard punt in the third quarter against the Gamecocks
  • He has a current school record streak of 27 straight made extra points

Yo Adrian..You did it!
  • Sr. WR Adrian Riley (Ocoee, Fla.) was tagged the Pioneer Football League and College Football Performance Awards National kick returner of the week following his performance vs Morehead State
  • Riley had a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown and totaled 112 all-purpose yards, including a nine yard touchdown catch
  • The 75-yard return is the second longest in school history
