Men’s golf finishes fourth at Atlantic Sun Conference Championship

BRASELTON, Ga. –The JU men’s golf team fired a third round team total of 298 to finish fourth at the A-Sun Golf Championship at the Chateau Élan Resort in Braselton, Ga. The Dolphins were led by Jamey Salmon (Jacksonville, Fla.) who tied for sixth in the individual portion of the championship with (74-77-71 -222). Sophomore Nick Torrance (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) finished tied for twelfth after posting scores of (74-74-79 -227).

Freshman Cyril Suk (Bradenton, Fla.)(76-81-73 -230) finished 20th overall. Sophomore Brett McKinnon (Glace Bay, Nova Scotia) (77-84-85 -236) finished in a tie for 32nd and Christian Vickers a senior from Jacksonville rounded out the scoring for the Dolphins with an (85-80-80 -245) to tie for 47th.

The Dolphins shot a closing round 10-over par 298 to conclude the 54-hole championship with a 47-over par 911 and a fourth-place finish. Seventeenth-ranked North Florida won its second straight conference championship after finishing play with a 17-over par total of 881, 14 shots better than East Tennessee State (881).
