Day One of the Sea Best Invitational In the Books for Dolphins

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - Temperatures in the mid 80s and winds at 14 mph made for an eventful day at the Sea Best Invitational on Monday. The 16-team field had only a couple holes each to play in round two before darkness fell and halted the tournament held at TPC Sawgrass home of the PGA TOUR’s THE PLAYERS Championship.

Led by a 77 from Prem Samritpricha and a 79 from Colin Monagle, The Dolphins carded a 321 team score in round one. Jacksonville sat at 24-over for round two when play was halted. Monagle was at team best two-over through 16 holes when played ended in round two.

Monday’s action was highlighted by an ace from 125 yards out on the famed No. 17 island green by Winthrop’s Bradley Kauffman. Kauffman hit his first career hole-in-one with a 50 degree wedge.

No. 37 Liberty led by seven shots over North Florida at the conclusion of round one asthe Flames shot a three-over 29.

Other first round scores for Jacksonville included an 82 from Brett McKinnon, an 83 from Connor Salanger and an 84 from Nick Torrence.  The Dolphins were in 15th at the conclusion of round one and had moved up to 14th in round two before play was susspended.  

Round two will be completed on Tuesday starting at 8:00 am. Final round action is then schedule to begin with a shot gun start at 10:00 am.
