Rowing Has A Great Outing at Head of Hooch

CHATANOOGA, Tn. – The Jacksonville University men’s rowing program continued its strong fall season with four top-ten finishes at the Head of the Hooch regatta on the Tennessee River.  Finishing in the top spot out of 36 entries, the Dolphin’s Freshmen 8 had an exceptional night in its third outing of the 2013 slate.

The Varsity 8 crews navigated the 5,000 meter course with times of 15:06.2 and 15:29.4 to finish fourth and eleventh, respectively.

In the Championship 8+ race, Jacksonville’s A boat claimed third place crossing in at 16:32.1. The B Boat wasn’t far behind with a time of 16:38.4 to place sixth.

Finishing 16.4 seconds before the University of Virginia, the Freshmen 8 took first place in their heat with a time of 15:17.1
