Men’s Soccer to Host Grand Canyon on Thursday Night
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville men’s soccer team is looking to capture its first win of the season on Thursday as they host Grand Canyon.
Thursday will mark the first ever meeting between the two teams. Picked to finish seventh in the Western Athletic Conference, Grand Canyon heads to JU with a record of 1-1-0. Kyle Ciliento, the reigning WAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, is the Antelopes leading and lone goal scorer.

To score, Ciliento and the Lopes will have to first break through JU’s exceptional back line which has held its opponents to one goal and just 16 shots.
On the offensive side of the ball for the Dolphins, head coach Ryan Pratt is confident junior forward Matheus Saroli will soon find his shot. Saroli leads JU in both total shots and shots on goal with 11 and five. “Goal scorers have slumps every once in a while,” said Pratt.  “He has had some great opportunities and has just been unfortunate to not find the back of the net. We’re sure he’ll get in form soon and it will be okay.”
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be live streamed on A-Sun.TV for free.
