The Dolphins Are Most Thankful For the Opportunity to Serve
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A few days before earning their first win of the season, the Jacksonville University women’s basketball team and coaching staff visited the Potter’s House Christian Church to assist with their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
The Dolphins spent the day preparing and organizing 500 food baskets to be given to families in need. Each basket contained enough food to feed a family a full Thanksgiving meal.
Working with the Potter’s House Christian Church, one of the largest churches in Jacksonville, was the team’s second community service project in November. On Nov. 10, the Dolphins volunteered at the Veterans 5K run held at The Jacksonville Landing. Already prepared to provide Christmas cheer, the Fins will be spending time at Wolfson Children’s Hospital during Christmas break.
