JU’S LAST OUTING: SENIORS SHOW OUT
Claiming their first back-to-back wins of the season, the Dolphins wrapped the Thanksgiving holiday thankful for an 82-67 victory over Troy University. In the matchup, seniors Madison Scott and Jade Cargill led the Fins with double-doubles.
Saturday marked the second game in a row Scott matched her career-high in points, converting on 6-of-7 shots from the field for 15 points. The center also posted a career-high in rebounds with 14 boards in 28 minutes of action.
Coming off of the bench to record 18 points and 10 boards, Cargill also showed why she is a top player in the Atlantic Sun.
Senior guard Ciara McLee made every minute of action count. Finishing the night with 10 points, she hit six of her seven makes from the charity strip in the final minutes of the contest which allowed the Fins to sail to the victory.
The Lady Tigers head to Jacksonville after dropping an 81-78 overtime nail bitter to Lipscomb last Tuesday. Though the team’s 78 points was a season-high, they fell to 1-6 on the season.
Averaging 17.6 PPG and 8.9 RPG, redshirt-junior forward Chelsea Hudson sees most of the ball for TSU. The Fins should also keep an eye on junior point guard Rachel Allen. In the Lady Tigers’ last outing, she led the team with 20 points adding seven boards and six assists. She is second on the team in scoring with an average of 11.0 points per game.
