THE GAME

The Jacksonville University women’s basketball team has set its sights on the Lady Bisons of Lipscomb University as the two meet for the final time this season on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. The contest can be seen live on ESPN3.

JU leads the all-time series against Lipscomb, 13-8, and won the team’s last meeting by a score of 86-65. Five Fins finished the contest in double-figures and were led by sophomore guard Queen Alford’s 17 points.

JU’S LAST OUTING: SWEEPING RIVER CITY RUMBLE

In her first start of the 2013-14 season, Jade Cargill registered her third double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds in the Dolphins 66-51 victory over North Florida last Saturday. The Dolphins had not swept the series since the 2008-09 season.

PROTECTING THE ROCK

Not only have players been scoring more in Atlantic Sun games but as a team they are more cognizant of protecting the ball. After starting the season averaging around 21 turnovers a game, the Fins have recorded 15 or less in six of their 10 conference contests.

THE OPPONENT

Despite holding the second best scoring offense in the conference, the Lady Bisons are still in search of their first A-Sun and home win of the season. Redshirt-sophomore guard Danay Fothergill directs the squad with 19.2 points per game while redshirt-sophomore forward Ashley Southern is recording 15.1 PPG to go alongside 11.9 RPG.
