Meyer Earns Career First Runner of the Week
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Senior cross country runner Svenja Meyer has earned her first career Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week award, the conference announced on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

“Svenja has been very determined in her training and racing," said head coach Ron Grigg.

Last Friday at the FSU Invitational, Meyer ran a personal best 17:33.65 -- three seconds ahead of the nearest A-Sun competitor -- to finish sixth overall of 79 runners. She was only beaten by runners from the No. 2 nationally ranked Florida State. Meyer helped Jacksonville to a fourth-place team finish with 102 points.

"She ran an intelligent and mature race at FSU," Grigg continued. "She is looking forward to the conference and regional championships.”

Next, Jacksonville will compete in the Atlantic Sun Championship on Nov. 2 in Nashville, Tenn.
